Event: Tropical Storm Warning in Effect for Cabo Verde
The National Hurricane Center issued a Tropical Storm Warning for Cabo Verde on Monday, September 7. Tropical storm conditions are expected to begin over the eastern portions of the Cabo Verde islands on the afternoon of Monday, September 7, and spread westward across the remainder of the islands in the evening.
The storm is expected to produce 2 to 5 inches of rain across portions of the Cabo Verde islands through Tuesday, September 8. Flash flooding, mudslides, and obstructed roadways are possible.
Swells generated by the storm are expected to spread westward across the Cabo Verde islands from late afternoon and evening of Monday, September 7. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
