Embassy Praia’s USCVUP grant competition, crafted based on Department of State’s priority of creating alliances between U.S. and African universities, aims to promote U.S.-Cabo Verdean faculty and student exchanges, encourage joint research, and provide transferable skills in university administration.
Areas of interest include creative industries, entrepreneurism, and STEM fields — specifically agriculture, hydrology, oceanography, ICT, aviation, meteorology, medicine, and public health. Other academic topics of interest include hospitality, tourism, ecotourism, and English for Specific Purposes. This competition also seeks to increase capacity of university partners in the United States and Cabo Verde to facilitate virtual exchanges and collaboration in order to address institutional impacts caused by travel restrictions and the COVID-19 pandemic.
We strongly encourage both U.S. and Cabo Verdean universities and NGOs with connections to higher education institutions to apply to this USCVUP grant competition. Please visit the Embassy website or grants.gov for more information and carefully follow all instructions to apply.
Applications will only be accepted electronically at PraiaGrants@state.gov. The deadline for applications is Friday, August 7.
