In commemoration of International Women’s Day, Chargé d’Affaires, Margaret McElligot visited APIMUD – the Cabo Verdean Association for the Promotion and Inclusion of Women with Disabilities and presented certificates to women who successfully completed the seamstress and small business management training courses. The first phase of the project was funded by the Ambassador’s Self-Help Fund in the amount of 8,120 USD.
The project implemented by APIMUD, funded the seamstress training and materials that benefited ten women with disabilities and their families. The project contributes to mission ICS goal by promoting economic and social inclusion, self-employment, and income generation for disadvantaged communities.
